Welcome to HNPS2022

HNPS2022 is the 30^th of the Hellenic Nuclear Physics Society (HNPS) series of Symposia that take place since 1990. This year, the Symposium is organized by the Department of Physics of the University of Ioannina and will be held in person on October 7 – 8, 2022, at the premises of “Karolos Papoulias” Conference Center.

The HNPS Symposia aim to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and research scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on various aspects of Theoretical and Experimental Nuclear Physics. The scientific programme is expected to include the most recent advances in the field, covering the following topics:

• Nuclear Structure
• Nuclear Reactions
• Nuclear Astrophysics
• Nuclear Physics Applications
• Accelerator Physics & Instrumentation

Registration and abstract submission will be handled online at the Symposium website. The HNPS2022 official language is English. Sessions will include Oral, as well as Poster presentations.

Following the standard practice, the Symposium Proceedings will be published by HNPS in a special Volume titled “HNPS 2022: Advances in Nuclear Physics” and will become available in open access on the eProceedings platform provided by the National Documentation Centre (EKT) ePublishing Service.

Depending on the Covid-19 national guidelines in place by the end of September, a series of health and safety precautions will be adopted to minimize the risk of infection among attendees. Despite the inconvenience such measures may pose, the Symposium will provide an excellent opportunity, not only to explore latest research achievements, but also to restore those aspects the Community has missed most during the pandemic: the revitalizing change of scenery and conference atmosphere, the extensive engagement and participation, the in-depth feedback and discussions during coffee breaks, poster sessions and post-plenary catch ups.
